I'm standing on a top of my car.

It's parked in the middle of the street, and the lights are off.

Another car passes me and drives about a minute up the street.

It swerves to the other side, on some sort of suicide crash mission, then U-turns with the kind of precision you only see in the movies. U-turns with the kind of precision I wish I could try, but am to much of a pussy and I will always go the speed limit.

Even when I'm driving in the desert. Which is where I'm located right now. On top of my car, with a camera, and with another car driving straight at me.

It's somewhere around 4 am. And I decided to get lost on purpose. I'm not sure why really. I had nothing much to do and felt like taking a picture of something. I think Barbossa summed up my intentions best when he said “Aye, we're good and lost now. For sure you have to be lost in order to find place what can't be found, elseways, everyone would know where it is. “

Sometimes thats the attitude I like to take when looking for something worth taking a picture of. It's hard for me to find stuff, because I'm up during the night. And I'm not sure if you guys know this or not, but shit is hard to see during the night. Due to lack of sunlight.

This all kind of started when I had nothing to eat in the fridge. I am an angry fellow when there is nothing to eat in the fridge, so I angrily drove to Wal-Mart to fix it. I felt like getting a steak and mash potatoes. On my drive home I had a moment which I guess can only be described as a “Fuck it” moment.

Gas is expensive and I don't really want to drive around and look for a place to take a picture of.

Fuck it.

My steak is sitting in the back and not being cooled.

Fuck it.

It's already 3am and I haven't finished doing laundry.

Fuck it.

So I went home. Cooked my steak and mashers. I put to much seasoning on it. Maybe from excitement. Maybe because I'm dumb. But mostly because the hole is to large in the cap. Grabbed my camera and went to get lost.

Now I'm on top of my car, in the middle of fuck ass no where trying to take a shitty picture. And I'm about to die because this car has turned around and is driving straight at me.

I wish I could say I Jackie Chan'ed myself off the car and got in to turn on the lights so they could see me. But it was more of a belly flop off the side which included a minor sprain of the ankle. The car passed me on the side going awfully fast, and I squinted expecting a gun shot or baseball bat to the gentle and soft side of my lovely face. They did then turned around again and headed back towards me. I got in the car and and turned it on.

At this point in time I'm not sure what happened to me. Because the whole time this car is in my life, all I wanted to do is drive away and get the hell out of there. But when they drove up to my side, I opened my window to talk to them.

They asked me if I was alright.

I don't understand what do you mean?

Dude why were you on top of your car.

I was taking pictures....

On top of your car?

Yes.

Of what?

You see that tree, the lines are real cool.

Alright well. We thought you were Ghost riding.

No I was not Ghost riding.. nice moves by the way.

Haha yea thanks man.

I drive the speed limit...

Alright see ya later.

Too funny, and a lovely, awkward end to an awkward conversation. I love it when photo's come with a story, it really helps to connect with the picture. Very lovely photo too, by the way!

I love it.
The light flaring in the blackness.
Great work, as usual.
